I've met Gen, Schwarzkopf and, frankly, I wasn't impressed. I was working as a translator at I Corps liaison office at the time and he struck me as just another 3 start looking for a 4th. I tell one man I was impressed with - Gen. Shalikashvili. He was 9th Division Commander at the time but he eventually became the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Clinton. He was a genuine human being who always seemed interested in the troops serving under him. Norman was much more self-involved (it seemed to me). I translated for both men and there was a huge difference. And, Gen. Shalikashvili liked Van Halen, too.
