Explain this to the women who were drowned as witches in Salem. The thought was, if she floats, she's a witch and we'll burn her. If she drowns, she was innocent, but she dies anyway.

Poor bear. Goin' about his bear day, gets shot by a tranquilizer, tries to chase the douche that shot him, then gets sent to a zoo. What the heck did he ever do to deserve that?

I have ALWAYS said that about the explosions. There is no oxygen so no fire in space! None! Humph.

Now let's have a post about fireman movies that are badly done. How about they couldn't walk in a burning building without their BAs on, let alone talk to eachother. Lame.

Great post! Keep posts like this coming! I remember everyone freaking out about the 2nd millenium because supposedly Nostradamus' predictions stopped after 1999 or whatever. Obviously the world didn't end and obviously (I learned today) he didn't date the predictions.

I love it! Most art is social commentary, whether we like it or not. The Sistine Chapel was commentary. Titian, Seurat, Van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol all made social commentary through art. This is the next step. I love the irony. She made art about excessive consumerism, to be bought by consumers, thus making them and her art excessive consumerist fodder. Delicious.

And then we'd have to go back even further to the conquering of all the Chinese tribes and the advent of the Qin dynasty...thus the word China.

Not all are ethnically "Chinese though." Clearly the Russians, Uzbeks, Koreans, etc are representative of immigrant groups which are prevalent in China.

Very cool though!

Let down. Only 3 of those places were creepy. And a monastary? How did that make the list? Unless you think priests and nuns are creepy, which I kind of do.

The ring around the moon is an old sailor's foreacsting supersition. I forget excatly how it goes, but the idea is if the ring is small, a large storm is coming, but if the ring is large, the storm will be small. No clue if it has any scientific accuracy or not. :)
