You're not supposed to reuse frying oil. The heat apparently changes it chemically and makes it very unhealthy to use (as if it were healthy to begin with).

The other ideas just seem kind of silly and wasteful. A paper towel would suffice just fine in nearly all of them and be so much cheaper.
