I don't like the post title. It seems to me that this article was just meant to get a rise out of people.

The characterization of skin as rubber is a good result. The interpretation that this means fingerprints do not increase grip is invalid.
Frictional behavior in rubber is known to be highly dependent on wetness and macroscopic roughness, especially in dynamic loading (sounds dirty). The study does not encompass any of these variables.

I think neatorama is best in its current format. I am always eager to look at the latest posts every day, or a few times a day. That said, I don't want to have to look in two places. Please don't post exclusives on twitter. I can see how a time dependent contest would be well served by twitter, but other than that, I don't see much of a point.
To be fair, I dislike twitter very much. I'm all for technological progress, being 22 and all, but there are various things about twitter that rub me the wrong way.

I do, however, have empathy for living things.
I have seen four dogs run over firsthand, one of which was my puppy. It got off of its leash when I was playing with it on my yard as an eight year old boy. I have also seen a kitten killed by a stray dog. These are all experiences that are burned into my memory in vivid detail. I would hate to share them with anyone.
This is not a cautionary video. This is violent voyeurism.

Pet Owner/Neglecter: "Omg guys, my dog got trampled by a deer. It was awful. I got it on video though! I posted it on youtube! Check it out!"
The lapses of judgement of this website's editors are few and far between. This is one of them. I want to like you neatorama, but shame on you.
