I speak 5 languages, english, urdu, punjabi, french spanish.

My persian is at a 6th grade level. I've got a thing for languages. I started arabic it was too hard so I started japanese as well which by comparison is really not bad at all!

Can I just add, that grammatical arabic is a beast unlike any other, that I have seen.

The base form of any word has a total of 14 conjugations. Then, there are 14 forms, for each, past, present, future, negative, command... and the list goes on. anything you want to say, has 14 conjugations.

Then to add to it, the rules have variety depending on the letters you use. So the size and scale of the rules exponentially increases! Then, as the article mentions is the passive tone which has a completely different set of rules.

What's worse is that conversationally mispronunciation can completely change the gist of what you want to say. Oh and dialects between countries, are so extreme that they can be incomprehensible.

for a month out of year the city of Mecca plays host to over 3 million pilgrims there to perform the rituals of Hajj.

Part of these rituals involve spending a periof of time in a desert valley. The municipal services trying to accomodate so many people in a limited amount of space for a short period of time have made their best effort to accommodate everyone.

Some are very unconventional and non-traditional solutions. Including your first cell. It exists out there where the stalls work as both toilets and showers. Traditionally though a few stalls are kept as a courtesy only as bathrooms and others only as toilets but at peak times, there's no guarentee. I pity the poor fellow who accidentally winds up on a shower line with a toilet need.

I met one of the phd students from Canada who was working on this project Memorial Day Weekend.

The work is absolutely fascinating in how they're trying to mimic how human beings walk. The energy save was produced almost entirely by harnessing kinetic energy that humans do naturally when walking.

back in MY day we didn't talk about personal intimate matters, not even with each other behind closed doors.

So, we used these devices to communicate through out the day what our expectations or interest were for the night.

Red not happening,
Green we're interested,
White, open to suggestion.

Through out the day we'd check the corresponding statuses and lock in our selections by night time. For someone to find out who was designated "Up" or "Down" was truly scandelous, therefore we used the knob on the bottom right to mix it up, keep us guessing and every one else too!

I like the idea of Neatotree. with each of the Neatorama minisites as the main branches, popular posts as fruit, and all posts as leaves and branches.

Don't have a clue how it would work graphically, but I'd love to see how it comes out on paper :-)

GasX for the 19th Century. Especially effective after grandma's bean casserole surprise.

with this pattent pending release valve, to help silently alleviate the "surprise" part of the casserole, suddenly grandma seems a lot nicer. And you aren't scared of left overs any more.

-Warning- Not recommended for church or church attire.

I'd like a Robot USB Hub!

p.s. I love Miss Cellania's standard response :-)

Yep the guy then got fined by the state gov't for having tobacco (called drug in this case) paraphernalia in his store.

Though the fine was something that just happened to be timed with this news story, he was warned to get rid of the stuff a bunch of times before they actually fined him.

Earnest - great comment!
