I'm from Rochester and don't know him. If he's still using shapes in Photoshop, it's not really any different than using Illustrator. Nice artwork nonetheless, but the digital medium is nearly moot. Unless it's done in acrylic on paper, it's still a question of only a couple minutes of actual work. The natural drawn stuff is great (maybe that's digital too?).
Looks like most of the geometric stuff is done in Illustrator. Easy to make most of those shapes. His handdrawn works are far more interesting to me. Check out "HORSE" and "OWL" and "CROWS"...
An addendum to that; if you don't have a digital camera, chances are good that Google street view has a picture of your house. Or that Microsoft's got an airplane flyby. Been using those for two years now.
I'm generally in support of his protest however I'd much rather see a "FREE HUGS" sign in his hands. It's an uphill battle to prove people are wrong. It's somewhat easier to show how their momentary beliefs are wrong.
I super-strongly encourage anyone in this situation to hold a "hug day" at their schools. Every time classes change periods, everyone hugs their way through the halls.
If you want to fight the system you can't convince them they're wrong. You have to convince them that what they're fighting against is right.
"It’s kinda rare that anyone really completes the tasks on these shows, but they don’t care. They see an impossible task and run headlong at it anyway. Very different than the kind of game shows we have in the US. And a VERY different mindset about the whole thing."
Wait, I'm sorry, a couple people built a huge and **obviously** potentially dangerous "thing" and expected random people to jump in to help control it?
I blame the designers, one hundred percent, not the bystanders.
No way.
Plus it looks ridiculous.
Haha.
I think it would be great to visit San Fran some day.

This this this, a thousand times this!!

What incredibly poor planning!
