It is absurd to blame the troubles on the workers.

It is managements fault.

They failed to manage.

That is why they get paid the fat money, not to whine and bitch and blame the employees.

If you are management...MANAGE THE COMPANY.

If you don't like the Unions then manage the situation, make them see that absenteeism will result in firings.
Manage your product, if you are trying to sell a car you do not get to blame the guy with the wrench putting wheels on all day, he didn't design it, nor did he do the consumer research nor the market place forecasting.

It is managements fault, they failed to manage any aspect of their business and awarded themselves a series of unearned and grossly out od scale pay increases.

HollywodBob

Other than Canada and a wee bit in Mexico I don't think the big 3 have ANY sales of US cars outside of continental America.

Sure once every year you'll see some knob in a dodge ram in the UK sitting on the wrong side of the car and making an ass of himself...but that's it.

Bail em out, they will fail and you can kiss good bye to your bail out "loan".

Oh and they have not paid back the previous loans from the gov that p*ssed away. So how exactly would they pay back these ones?

Wouldn't all this state ownership be...SOCIALISM?

The only thing you guys should be socialising is your health care system...it'd trim a couple of grand off your car costs for one.

Everyone pays in everyone benefits.

I did like the stuff on the GM facts and fiction website about how they've trimmed there payroll by 48%.

That's not halved the work force, that's the payroll.

So how can they have the same number of workers but have halved the pay roll?

The work is being done outside the US, in Mexico.

SO they are effectively a foreign company with a few assembly plants in the US, but still want US bail out money.

How cute is that?

The Australian city of Melbourne was previously named after Sir John Batman and known as Batmania. Similarly to Tasmania being named after Tasman.

1) A rotary clothes drier should be strong enought to spin with up to 8 kids hanging off it. God bless the Hills hoist.

2) You think that the anthem should be waltzing Mathilda despite it being about a sheep thief.

3) You know that "Grouse" is a superlative.

4) It is entirely normal to have towns half of whom are named after water logged pommie places and the other half are aboriginal viz Aubrey and Wodonga

5) The only thing that can improve a burger with beetroot is a runny fried egg.

6) If you are from Melbourne (Mel-bin)you can swear a bit in Greek despite not being Greek or ever having been to Greece.

7) Again if you are from Melb/Vic you know what this means.
