I will believe a graphic like this when it includes state and federal income tax, sales tax as well as sections of the underground economy such as gambling and recreational drugs.

Rock salt and bacon grease would be cheaper and have about the same effect.

Might I add: anything that accurately travels 100 feet from a 12 gauge shotgun should be considered to be potentially lethal.

If you were getting on a plane, and your companion stayed in the restroom so long that she missed the flight, what would you do?

For me, it depends on the person. For some I would go into the restroom to find out what was wrong. For others, I would go on with my business and place bets on what excuse she would give me.

Unless there was a very thick coating of polymer over the pennies, they would wear out in a matter of months. Even if they did apply a coating, it looks like it would peel off the pennies after only a few seasons.

Oh, and let me the first to point out that doing this is a federal crime.

I am of two minds on this article. On one hand, The suggested DIY experiments are practical, potentially informative and relatively cheap. On the other hand, the kits are not that much more expensive and come with comprehensive instruction manuals.

If one is capable of explaining the electrolysis of water to Hydrogen, then use the homemade experiment. Otherwise, you would be smart to buy the kit.

I like the tone of this article. Language evolves. Three of the above were, at one point, slang terms. They moved into common usage and have morphed (and eventually will die) as the world changes around them. Such change is as interesting as it is inevitable, but should not be mourned.

I am with Jill. Made sense to me. Just because You (O.K., not *you*, but that guy over there) does not understand something does not mean it is unintelligible.
