Tananka or Thetanka... ;-)

Seems like a bit of a hopeless animal-group as pets or zoo-animals, these ankylosaurs- Perhaps vegetarian and peacefull like modern cows, but very small brains in big armoured body with a hell of a Punch at the back. So anything that triggers their nerves or scares them, makes them go highly defensive instantly and whack their tails into whatever it is that even so much as moves.

 That'd be a sight to see! :-)

I knew it I knew it!!! - Y'all are distant cuzzez of mine!!! - We're all related and that's why we all feel so comfy cozy around here.

...Oh Darn I'm Dutch so that doesn't fly for me if you all are English...... Well in that case surely Van Buren must be family of mine in some way or form.

... Oh wait if we go back even futher, some of my anscestors went to England in the time of the Daneland so I still must have lots of relatives over Yonder and then indirectly also in the America's (apart from the confirmed members that went there during the late 1890's and early 1900's and just after WW2...).

And if we go back even before that, undoubtedly during the time of the Great Migrations there must have been common anscestors.

And even before that during the days of Cro Magnon or befor that during Australopithecus-Days..........

 Hello there Exended Family!!!!

Ronald Darwin has worked out the principle of unguided or undirected evolution. I merely seem to point here at the strong evidence of guided evolution- ney dare I say - guided and prethought development. Imagine- All that energy of about 15 billion years of planetary evolution and then about 1,5 billion years of evolution of life Júst sparked and corrected to make humans so perfect that they can use these cars and aeroplanes...! Incredible...! That whole bipedal walking-thing is just a moment in our development- a fad that soon will dissapear because now we are reaching our directed evolutionary destinies: Segway, Car and Aircraft.

Just incredible that Deity. Just incredible...

Our whole human bipedal evolution seems to be pointed at the one-day-in evolution point that humans would have to drive cars and fly aeroplanes. For that, we humans are built exeptionally well- In fact one could even see some form of Divine engineering of the human species that this species maches so well with those machines. So my guess is that Darwin must be wrong after all.

Oh and with The Netherlands there is this confusion of naming in that lots of people outside Europe still don't know the name of that country- Is it "Netherlands" like is seen on postcard-adresses, "The Netherlands" like officially but then sometimes you get glazed confused looks and then you have to say "Holland" to make things clear but that only covers 2 provinces of The Netherlands......

With The Hague I find it even more complicated and confusing.
If someone from that place fills in his or her place of living, he or she can fill in "The Hague", "Den Haag" or " 's-Gravenhage", while they may use phonetially "De Haag"(let's see if I can find English comparatively correct sounds for this...) with "De" pronouced as in "The" and "Haag" with the "H" as in "hood", the "aa" as in a long stretched "a" in the word "Harbour" and the "G" as in the famous Dutch name "SCHeveningen" with it's guttural scraping like compinging "g" "r" and "h"together to "gggg". Some computers will accept all 3 forms, others will only accept the last one sice that is the official one.

Funny is that in different languages different rules apply even as to how countries are named- Not withstanding what the place itself says what it should be- in some languages the definite article is put in there or discarded just as the custom in that language sees fit. So in Dutch it still is used as THE Ukraïne.

Oh and about the U.S.A.- Is it allowed to use "The United States", "The U.S." or "the U.S.A", or must we ever use "The United States Of America"...?

...So what do we show with a topic on White wine...?

A painting depicting a gay guy holding a glass of Red wine. ....? ;-)

"The effect is pH-mediated, and is most noticeable with Riesling wines, and was exacerbated by brushing the teeth soon after drinking wine."

Same goes for eating all kinds of healthy fruit-
Most dentists over here where I live give the advise not to brush your teeth shortly after eating an apple or other sour fruit because that damages the teeth too much.

Perhaps by now we may conclude that there is absolutely nothing we humans can do or consume that has no risks- Even breathing clean air gives the risk of oxidation and poisoning, if done too much....

I see a future in this robot for automated rescue-rides when some victim is loaded by rescueworkers on a stretcher with ski's on it and a small unit. And then they say to the unit "go home" and off it goes without any further need to be supervised till it has kome down the mountain.

Ah sorry Frau and others here- I come from a region in the world where Halloween is not celebrated. -Yet.

With the ongoing Americanisation of our culture I foresee that in a few years it will be just as great over here as it seems to be in the U.S. itself...

@Frau-
I don't understand- Why would you want to get scared?

I've been in war. I was scared to death for several weeks at a time. I saw and felt those things firsthand. And I really don't understand why you would like that...?

Like you say- To each his or her own

Gauldar I don't find this cake offending in any way, shape or form. I don't see why it should be offending? I just find it sick. I find this fascination of people for horror, bloody chainsaw-things and torture and sadism and alikes weird, distorted, screwed up. That is different. But offensive? No. Not in the least.

Completely sick, this cake.

Not shocking or whatever- Just Mentally Sick.

I think you gotta be a bit of a fruitcake to even like zombieovies and that sort of "horror". But this wedding cake But ... why would you even want to have such a thing on your ... wedding day...? To me that sounds like that person would need a series of serious talks with a friendly person in a white coat....

This woman was so much a human with an almost Western-Medieval mindset as it comes to her form of faith and the way she looked at power, money and religion.

And now even her dead body has become part of status and politics.
