@steph -- I thought that that episode was technically cool and fun, but it didn't really grab me. Although it was fun to watch the dialogue about how Klingons looked different.

@claytonwerner -- that's pretty much my assessment, too. And my favorite lighthearted episodes were those involving the Ferengi. They're one of the most interesting cultures in Trek.

@daikoneklectik -- did you have to take off the earring, like Ensign Ro did?

@Kevin R -- I first "Far Beyond the Stars" in its novel form during summer job graveyard shifts. It's one of the better novelizations, and the episode was great, too.

The producers of DS9 briefly considered ending the series by making the final shot one of Benny Russell reading a script entitled "Star Trek".

@JoeyJoeJoe -- "The Visitor" certainly ranks highly. I find it so heart-wrenching that it's almost painful to watch. I guess that's a sign about how good it is.

@elnots -- yes, absolutely. One of the great things about DS9 was its depiction of massive, spectacular battles. For the first time, the Federation was faced with national destruction by a foe that was powerful, but not god-like. The battle scenes were glorious (real war, of course, is just awful).

@Bill -- I watched some B5 in college, but it's only the past two years that I've been able to really get caught up on science fiction. I was always working two jobs or otherwise occupied during potential free time. So a few months ago, I watched Babylon 5 from start to finish over about a month.

One of the better arguments that I've read against this man's lifestyle is that in the event of a disaster, he has few tools or materials that he can use to survive. How long can he shelter in place?

@Regina -- yes, the way that he grips it to his chest was a nice touch. As Kevin R says, Stewart was the best actor in Trek.

@steph -- yes, that one's really good. Especially the scene when Gul Madred talks to his young daughter in front of the suffering Picard.

@vonskippy -- ugh. A Barclay episode. 1 was too many.

@KatieK777 -- oooh, yeah. And that incident with Yar would later saved Data's life in "Measure of a Man."

@JohnnyCat -- yes, the opening, with the repeated destructions of the Enterprise was a great way to grab the audience.

@Kevin R -- "Tapestry" is a good choice. I really liked the way that Picard woke up laughing at the end.

@Lex -- everyone on board hated Q, but he always seemed like good guy to go barhopping with.

@Jeff the Baptist -- I liked "Frame of Mind", too. The only thing that bothered me about the episode was that it illustrated that Starfleet officers have way too much free time on their hands.

@Anonymous Prime -- "Darmok" was actually required viewing for me in grad school. It was a good choice.

@Lex -- I agree about "I, Mudd." Especially the final scene in which Harry Mudd encounters his multiple wives.

@Kevin R -- That's a good idea! I'll post that right away.

@Gary James -- Now that there are rules to Fizzbin, it's possible for Trekkies to play out this episode.

@Vonskippy -- me, too. Sylar could have been the real hero of the series, if only he hadn't taken his time.

@GODOFTHUNDER -- Hah! I hadn't thought of it like that, but yes, Alan Moore was the best writer on that show.

@Johnny Cat -- the object of a girl's crush can be a good indicator of what she's looking for in a man.

@Jjannie -- the sex in Enterprise is pretty heavy-handed and contrived. But I like the grand, serialized war depicted in it, as well as the Dominion War in DS9. I found the latter rather tedious until the Dominion invasion.
