I have read in other places that Disney f---ed over quite a few people, and evidently Ub Iwerks was one of them. Disney may be regarded as the "Rolls Royce" of animation, but the success of the studio seems to be more due to ruthlessness business practices rather than production quality. These days the Disney Company is gobbling up studios left and right, apparently hellbent on becoming an entertainment monopoly.

This is an underrated and underappreciated masterpiece. Max Fleischer should have been synonymous with great animation, not Walt Disney.

Yes, Williams' death was a tragedy - and a shock. The way Disney treated him, and the people working on FernGully, are just more reasons to loathe and abhor the Disney company. It's getting harder and harder to find entertainment companies not owned by Mickey Pigtopus.

The @$$holes who ruin everybody else's movie experience are incredibly selfish. They think of only themselves, not people who paid maybe $10 for a ticket and a couple hours' escape from reality. I have zero respect for anyone who talks and/or texts during a film. All the more reason to wait for a movie to come out on DVD and watch it at home!
