I don't think many people are saying the tablet itself is vaporware - they're saying there is NO WAY it can be made in any quantity shy of 24 trillion to reach that price point.
Just like the OLPC fiasco - first it was $50/ea then when the prototype was released it was $99/each and then reality set in and it's a $250 piece-o-crap that nobody wants and can easily be replaced by numerous Netbooks off the shelf at Walmart for less money.
Besides - there are more studies showing that technology interferes with learning then there are that shows it helps.
Most these comments are a double wide load of crap.
Neatorama is read by a bazillion people.
If Alex (and crew) removed all the words that could possibly offend any of their readers - the blog would be nothing but a page with the vowels a,i,o (because I hate the vowel "u" and I'm sure someone must feel the same thing about "e").
Get over it people - isn't it a American saying that goes "Sticks and Stones...."?
"the Seattle Gum Wall is also one of the most germ infected tourist spot in the world."
Is there any science to back that statement up?
The flora in the mouth of healthy humans is minimal, and old chewing gum doesn't have nutrients to sustain or grow microbes, so how can it be the most "germ infected" anything?
iWoz and the Google Story were two of the dullest most poorly written books I've ever read.
Very little info on how Apple or Google got it's mojo, and tons and tons and tons of dribble that at times, seem to be in the wrong book.
Can't recommend strongly enough - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME on those two books (unless of course you're the type of person that likes to watch paint dry, grass grow, etc).
Isn't security dramaturgy fun?

When you can afford to buy all new stuff - there really isn't that much physical stuff you're attached to.
I still jump when the spider creature pops up.
