Bulldog Watches Horror Movie

Flat screen TVs have opened up a whole new world for cats and dogs and other pets. The older cathode-ray-tube TVs never held their interest. But now we are seeing our pets experience movies as if they were real life. For example, see how a bulldog named Kahleesi is really getting into watching a horror film.

(YouTube link)

Just as she would if it were real, Khaleesi keeps an eye on everything. When something is out of the ordinary or threatening, she barks a warning to the humans on the TV. That's a good dog. Brave, too! -via Tastefully Offensive

This is How You Get a Cat

Big_Wanker shared a picture of what happens when you feed a neighborhood cat. The title was, "My parents started feeding a stray kitten a couple weeks ago. This was their front porch today." And so it goes.

P3rc0sk1 came home to this. He said, "I don't own a cat." The response was yes, you do, in fact you now own five cats. It happens more often than you realize that a cat thinks it's just fine to walk into your home and decide it's a good place to live. That's how you get a cat. Bored Panda has 160 submitted images from the "I don't own a cat…" category. -via Metafilter

Duffy and the Ball

This is Duffy. He is a good dog. He just can't catch a ball to save his life. But he's not giving up.

(YouTube link)

Duffy's trials are wonderful as they are, but shown in slow motion and edited as an epic tale set to the tune of "Nessun Dorma," it is a thing of beauty. -via Boing Boing

Cat Thieves Who Were Caught Red-Pawed

(Image Link)

Cats are born to be master thieves, raised to be super sneaky, and taught the fine art of stalking, hiding and stealing by their feline elders, with some students showing more promise than others.

But even the most inept cats are pretty good at snatching stuff without their humans noticing, that is, when they're not acting all IDGAF about the rules of the house.

And if cats had any concept of monetary value they could make a fortune pilfering jewelry from our dressers and selling our electronics on Craigslist while we're at work. Instead they just steal silly stuff like books and pens then give us that "what?" face.

(Image Link)

You can't blame cats for going a bit stir crazy when they're locked in the house all day, so we smile and laugh when they relieve their boredom by stealing stuff.

However, stealing food is a serious no-no when they're in our homes, but if you hang a bunch of delicious fish outside where your outdoor cat can reach them then all bets are off!

Dogs Wait Patiently At The Gate Until Their Names Are Called

Dogs are obedient by nature, born and raised to follow their pack leader and remain loyal to the pack, and if you want to see the true extent of a dog's obedient nature you have to see a dog trainer work their magic.

The trainer in this video trained her dogs to wait at the gate until their name is called, demonstrating how well dogs can tune out distractions and follow commands even when they'd rather be playing with their pals. However, there's one rebel in every pack, and in this pack rebellion is named Nacho.

Black Bear Attack Caught On GoPro

You'll hear one thing stated a dozen different ways when you visit parks in bear country- steer clear of bears, or you might end up mauled or dead.

This warning is enough to keep visitors on their toes and keep the timid from visiting parks in bear country at all, but some people act like it will never happen to them and roam around like they own the park.

The hunter who captured this bear attack footage on his GoPro camera is clearly one of those guys, because he thought he could take down a black bear with a lvl 1 archery skill!

(YouTube Link)

This wild footage was captured by Richard Wesley while he was out bow hunting in Fire River, Ontario, and Richard seems pretty happy the bear didn't dine on his innards:

I am so happy after this confrontation with a black bear during our spring hunt. No wounds except a bruised elbow and ego where the bear threw me down. Genuinely happy that this was a non fatal or tragic outcome. Proving that the black bear is a wild and unpredictable animal. Again so happy with the outcome.

Meet The Cyclops Kid

Scholars believe the Cyclops myth may have begun when people saw the skull of a prehistoric dwarf elephant and misidentified its nasal cavity as one large eye socket, leading them to believe monstrous one-eyed humanoids roamed the Earth.

Today we know people and animals born with one eye have a rare genetic disorder called Cyclopia, which is "characterized by the failure of the embryonic prosencephalon to properly divide the orbits of the eye into two cavities".

Animals born with this congenital disorder rarely live very long, but a baby goat born in Assam, India nicknamed "The Cyclops Kid" has defied all expectations and may live to see goat-dulthood.

(YouTube Link)

The Cyclops Kid was born on May 10, 2017 at the home of Mukhuri Das, who feels the cute little guy is a blessing from God:

I was shocked. It’s like a miracle and people have been coming to our place to see this baby goat. …It’s my responsibility to take care of the baby goat. I have been feeding him like a normal goat. It might be something from God that the baby goat was born in our house. He So many people are coming to our place to see this baby goat…

His New Collar

Every picture tells a story, and this one is a tale of overconfidence -or maybe just cluelessness. That's the cat door around his neck. This puppy thought he was small enough to go through, just like the cat he lives with. It doesn't work that way. His head went through, but getting it back out was a different story. The uploader doesn't say whether the dog broke the door off or the human had to disconnect it, but the result is a sorry dog with a self-made collar of shame who may our may not have learned his lesson. -via reddit

This Dapper Little Dog Wants To Sell You A Used Car

There are some seriously shady individuals out there selling used cars and the law, and some of them are so sleazy they look like characters from a TV show, with cheap suits, fake tans and even faker smiles.

But if dogs could walk and talk they'd make sales left and right without deceiving buyers, because customers wouldn't be able to resist their powers of cuteness.

Still don't believe dogs would make the ultimate salescritters?

Just try and say no to Mr. Griff the Brussels Griffon when he tries to sell you his services as a lawyer or a used car, he would've had you at herro!

Here's Mr. Griff in a commercial for Brus Griffin's Motor World, where all used cars have their tires peed on thoroughly inspected and all windows cracked for maximum wind-to-face ratio.

7 Signs That Cats Are Scientists

We recently posted a video about cats attacking things and knocking objects off tables. I mentioned that they were trying to cause chaos and destruction, but Chris Poole has an alternate theory. These cats are conducting experiments!

(YouTube link)

It makes perfect sense: cats are naturally curious, and are masters of observation, exploration, and manipulation. Plus this theory gives us a reason to watch Cole and Marmalade being their everyday charming selves. -via Laughing Squid

What Kind Of Animal Does This Skull Belong To?

To truly understand animals you have to see what lies beneath their skin both literally and figuratively, so you can better understand how they think, how they behave and how their bodies help them survive in the wild kingdom.

Inside most animals is a skeleton, which forms a support structure and keeps their bodies from becoming a blob of organs, and this skeleton can be used to identify an animal long after its flesh has been stripped from its bones.

If you fancy yourself a bit of an expert on animal anatomy then identifying the skull at the top as that of a deer should have been fairly easy, and identifying the boar skull above even easier. But is this the skull of a gorilla or a chimpanzee?
