How to Steal Pizza

(YouTube link)

Dave Hax explains in detail how to get more of the pizza than you should, or more than you are entitled to. This works much better if you are the one bringing it home, or pulling it out of the oven. The only thing the other pizza-eaters can say is, “I thought I told you to order a large.” Then you assure them that you will -next time. -Thanks, Dave!

Reese’s Pieces Snake Cake

The uncle of redditor Dookalignmike made this cake covered with Reese’s Pieces. Keep in mind the old rhyme to distinguish between a king snake and a coral snake:

Red and yellow, kill a fellow.
Red and black, venom lack.

This one is yellow and orange. But, as redditor PainMatrix points out, if you have a peanut allergy, it’s a poisonous snake.

15 British Sweets Everyone Should Try

YouTube Link

If your'e a fan of candy (or sweets, as the Brits say), you'll want to check out Anglophenia Episode 22, in which Siobhan Thompson discusses and shows examples of fifteen of the most popular British sweets. There's a decidedly different set of tastes between the cultures. For example, Britain seems to have slightly more of a taste for licorice than the United States. What's your favorite type of candy from a country other than that of your origin? -Via Laughing Squid

Krispy Kreme Waffles

This is such a perfect and simple recipe! Amy of Oh, Bite It! took fresh Krispy Kreme glazed donuts and stuck them in a waffle iron. That's it. There's no other work involved. You can't screw this up.

Of course, you'll want to treat yourself after preparing this breakfast. Indulge your sweet tooth by adding syrup, chocolate sauce, butter, and jam.

Is there anything that you can't turn into a waffle? We've seen people make waffles with pulled pork, Fruit Loops, brownies, and pizza. Could you make a waffle with a human soul? I bet that would be delicious with blueberry syrup on top.

2,000 Calories Worth of Food From Various Restaurants

Retaurant: Potbelly | Meal: Orange Mango juice (250), big Italian sandwich with mayonnaise (1,088), chips (220), cookie (420)

The New York Times recently had an article that featured photos of 2,000-calorie meals from various establishments. Some were fast food joints, some were fancier restaurant chains. To those who are newly conscious of nutrition, calorie content, and weight loss/maintenance, these photos may be a wake-up call. Certain restaurant meals contain the entire recommended caloric intake per day (though that varies by a person's weight and exercise level). Perhaps most noteworthy is the fact that healthy choices made at home, shown in the photo at bottom, afford a person quite a lot of food per day. There's no need to feel hungry if one makes good food selections.

See more photographs of 2,000-calorie restaurant meals here.

A Cookbook Featuring Original Recipes Based On Video Game Grub

Have you ever been in the middle of playing a video game and thought “gee, I’m hungry, I could sure go for a bowl of that Dig Rat Stew my character is eating!”

Me neither, but the idea of bringing dishes from video games to life is an interesting one, and the basic concept behind Holly Green’s geeky gamer cookbook Fry Score: An Unofficial Guide To Video Game Grub.

Holly faithfully recreates dishes from our favorite video games, such as Yeto’s Soup from The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess or Apple Cabbage Stew from Skyrim, and by faithfully we mean she makes up her own recipes because most games don’t actually tell you what goes into each dish!

Holly’s inventive recipes sound downright delicious, like her recipe for Yeto’s Superb Soup which she shared with Game Informer here.  Geeky references and great eats- I’m game!

Pulled Pork Waffles Are A Must Have for the New Year

Waffles are one of those perfect foods, but what could make them better? How about pulled pork and barbecue sauce? We're not just talking about a savory waffle with pulled pork inside (which would also be tasty), but a waffle made completely out of pulled pork.

Instagram's the Vulgar Chef created this amazing monstrosity and even capped it off with bbq sauce, mac n' cheese, and, of course, bacon. He also made a similar creation with beef hash and a Spaghetti-os pizza that looks like vomit but probably tastes like heaven. Be warned though, as the name implies, there is a lot of foul language at the link.

Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Batcake!

Mike’s Amazing Cakes
made this cakealicious scaled model of the Batcave, just as it looked in the 1966 Batman television series. This Batcake comes complete with the Batcomputer, an atomic reactor, the handy instant costume change lever and secret entrance, and the Batmobile. There's even little Batman and Robin figures inside the Batmobile, though the car and figures are not edible. The Batmobile is a diecast model which was supplied by the client, and around which the cake was designed. Bat Appetit to Mike's client!

A Doughy Meal Prepared With Play-Doh Toys

It’s time to take our kitchens back to the days of Play-Doh buffets and Easy Bake Oven cake walks. It's time to return our refined palates to those days when we ate something the lunch lady called stew and chewed on random things we found lying on the playground.

Okay, maybe we shouldn’t take food prep back that far, but Rhett and Link brought a bit of their childhood back for their show Good Mythical Morning by preparing a meal using Play-Doh shapers.

(YouTube Link)

They created an edible dough akin to Play-Doh out of flour and water, then added colors and assorted fruits and vegetables to make the whole thing more palatable.

The Play-Doh-esque food was supposed to mimic real foods like hot dog buns and spaghetti and meatballs with toast, but in the end kiddie fun food time just couldn’t satisfy their full grown taste buds!

He’s Packing Heat

Talk about armed and dangerous! This picture was posted at reddit and labeled “Only in Louisiana,” which doesn’t quite make sense because there’s no shortage of hot sauce at any eatery in Louisiana. However, the vest tells us he’s working outside and wants to be ready for any emergency, even lunch.

You can order a Tabasco holster in denim, although the leather looks nicer. As you can imagine, the conversation under the picture turned to the merits of Tabasco vs. other hot sauces. Several were mentioned, which made me wonder what y’all thought.

Which hot sauce is best?

Christmas and Hanukkah Rice Krispie Treats

I've previously featured the work of the baker and artist Jessica Siskin, AKA "Mister Krisp." But in the intervening months, my attention drifted away. That's a shame because I missed her reproduction of Kim Kardashian's internet-breaking posterior.

But I have returned to the fold soon enough to see Siskin's fantastic Rice Krispie treat sculptures designed with Christmas and Hanukkah themes. Check out her Instagram feed for more.

This Piano Keyboard Is Actually Candy

Get your sticky fingers off my treats! This novelty isn't a musical instrument, but a carefully crafted confection called the Jazz Yokan. Rocket News 24 reports that the Japanese online retailer Creeks offers this unusual candy that looks like a piano's keyboard. It's made with brown sugar and figs marinated in wine.
