Chicken Charlie calls himself the “Deep Fry King of California.” When he sets his wits to work to devise the most extreme fair foods, no one can top him. The results at this year’s Orange County Fair include Charlie’s caviar-covered Twinkie. It costs $125. That’s a lot, but most Twinkies are worth it.
AsapSCIENCE explains the many factors that make us love bacon, but whether we understand it or not, this video will make you crave a BLT. Especially if you have backyard tomatoes ripening already, as I have. -via Tastefully Offensive
You’ve seen watermelons grown as cubes. The next step would obviously be to bake bread that looks like one of those watermelons, inside and out. Brian Ashcraft of Kotaku reports that this kind of bread is a popular trend in Taiwan. It started at a bakery called Jimmy’s Bakery, but has spread widely. You can even make your own at home. Slice it open and eat it plan, or wrap two slices around real watermelon for a watermelon sandwich.
The Minnesota Fair has announced a whole slew of new fair foods for 2015 you can try out -and if people like them, you’ll no doubt see them at other fairs, too. Pictured above is the SPAM® Burger, available in five flavors: Jalapeño, Hot and Spicy, Bacon, Hickory Smoke, and Black Pepper. What to eat with a SPAM® Burger? How about a Mac & Cheese Cupcake? It’s the macaroni and cheese you love in a breadcrumb crust topped with Cheez Whiz.
Many of the new offerings are international fusion recipes, like the Kimchi 'n' Curry Poutine, Sweet Potato Taco, and the Italian Dessert Nachos. Minnesota is well-represented, too with Grandma Deb’s Snicker Bar Salad. Don’t miss the Sriracha Balls and the Meatloaf-on-a-Stick. Sushi is fantastic, but it's awfully hard to eat on the go. On the other hand burritos are marvelous, but they can feel a little heavy. So why not combine the portability of a classic burrito with the fresh offerings of a tasty sushi roll.
Right now Sushirrito is only open in the Bay Area, but I for one can't wait until they are everywhere!
Ice cream is serious business my friends, as you well know. As such, verification may be needed as to whether a product labeled in a certain way is accurate as stated. In this case, those buying cookie dough ice cream are not in the mood for just a small, isolated chunk of it interspersed here and there in a vast expanse of vanilla. No, we want major cookie dough blobs, and lots of them. In this article, BuzzFeed evaluated four brands of cookie dough ice cream to get the skinny (or, rather, the fat) on this issue. With everything going on in the world, it's nice to know someone has their priorities straight.
Every now and then it doesn't hurt to stash recipe collections that will go the extra mile on days you are kid heavy and idea light. Or maybe for use in a future themed party or game night. This collection of Harry Potter-inspired recipes is full of delicious looking ideas with fun and festive presentations. Make some magic; some of these concoctions look like the foodstuff of wizards.
If you think you have to wait for a long time for pizza, just be thankful that you didn't have to wait 18 hours like for this one. But result is worth it: a new Guinness World Record for world's longest pizza!
For the 2015 world fair in Milan, Italy, sixty pizza makers came together to cook a sizzling margherita 1,595.45-meter long (that's nearly a mile-long!) The pizza was made using over two tons of tomato sauce and half a ton of mozzarella cheese, and stretched over 800 tables.

After the pizza was declared as world's longest, it was fed to over 30,000 fair visitors, and donated to a local food bank.
So, just how does one cook a mile-long pizza? With moving ovens, of course:
Journalist Cecilia Edström tweeted this picture of the culinary masterpiece, which is called the "Volcano Pizza," made by chef Halmat Givra of Nya Gul & Blå restaurant in Piteå, Sweden. As reported by Nyheter24, the pizza contains pockets of ham and cheese, beef tenderloin, salami, bacon, french fries, and salad with Bearnaise sauce.

Enjoying a libation or ten with friends can be fun, but the next day you're left with a heavy head and a heavy load of bottles and cans to clean up.
Depending on how much you and your friends drank the night before you might end up with hundreds of bottles bound for the recycling bin, and that thing can fill up fast when your friends are heavy drinkers.
So maybe it's time to do something else with some, if not all, of those bottles. If you're a drinker and a crafter then you should be upcycling those used booze bottles into something aesthetically pleasing and useful.
Here are ten fun projects that turn bottle trash into home decor treasure-
1. Beer Bottle Tumblers-
We'll start this list with a quick and easy project, which will ease you in to working with glass and give you something cool to drink out of. Making tumblers out of beer bottles, or most glass bottles for that matter, is simple and requires simple things like string and acetone that you probably already have sitting around the house.
This quick and easy tutorial will help you turn virtually any glass bottle into a cool and classy tiki torch, so that warm and fuzzy buzz will be accompanied by the warm glow of a flickering flame.
Glass bottle trays can be used for cutting, serving or displaying, and they look so unique your guests are sure to wonder "how did you flatten out a bottle like that?"
Well, in order to "slump" a bottle and turn it into a flattened serving tray you'll need access to a kiln, but the rest of the process is a breeze. There is a bit of trial and error involved though, so feel free to experiment and don't use your best bottle the first time around.
Even before the infamous horror movie was released, "Human Centipede" wasn't exactly a phrase that incited hunger. For those that saw the film though, the name itself stirs up horrifically disgusting imagery, which is why it's surprising that any company would willingly create a food product named after the disgusting franchise.
That being said, when you order a burger from Zombie Burger, you are already showing your support for the horror genre -and the Human Centipede actually looks pretty tasty. The three-piece slider bun features a different burger in each segment. I never would have thought that I would want to eat a Human Centipede, but I kind of want to now.
Sweet and savory can make for one delicious combination, bringing a little dessert love to your dinner, but this juicy looking burger and chunky side of fries is nothing but sweet.
This delicious look-a-like Cupcake Burgers recipe shared by C&H Sugar consists of a brownie burger patty between cupcake buns, with shredded coconut lettuce, buttercream ketchup and mustard and a side of shortbread fries.
It’s not the kind of thing you want your family to fill up on during a barbecue, but it makes a delicious, and delightful looking, dessert to enjoy after everyone has had their fill from the grill!
My talented Father does it again with a special creation for my cousins wedding, though I did make the edible Lego bricks
That's one lucky cousin! You can make your own edible LEGO bricks from gummy candy, but these look more like fondant or some kind of sugar -and more like the real bricks. It must have taken some time! Notice how the little minifig bakers and construction workers are busy “icing” the cake! -via Buzzfeed
Ah, bacon. Its long-lasting wave of popularity as a cult ingredient doesn't yet show any sign of disappearing. If one casually looks into factors that may have influenced the increased popularity of bacon in the last ten plus years, one is the rise of low-carb diets such as Atkins. Thus, if any of these 30 decadent bacon recipes strike your fancy and you end up making a batch, raise your glass of accompanying beverage in a toast to low-carb dieting everywhere. Sugary, carmelized bacon biscuits? Thanks, Dr. Atkins!
