This is something I've always wanted to try. Any place in Southern California that serve this strange dish?

I've been interested in trying it as well. Upon "googling" there appears to be a poutine restaurant in Chicago, yaaay! (oh, how I love that Chi-town is such a foodie city) May have to check it out this weekend if I can strong arm the husband into cheating on his diet.

Apparently, they have poutine in the US and they call it "cheese fries."

It's more popular in Quebec than the rest of Canada.

For what it's worth, I'm from Montreal and I don't like poutine.

In Calgary there is a restaurant called Charcut that makes the single greatest poutine ever! The potatoes are fried in duck fat and it is served with a truffle gravy.

Poutine in Texas? I really must find those cheese curds, and I have not seen them at HEB.

It's from Quebec, not from Canada. We had Katimavik kids from all over Canada, and they all wanted to try Poutine because they've heard of it, but knew it was almost only in Quebec.

Had one today, discount of 28% because in January, the colder it is, the less it cost ;) (it was -28 C degrees today)

Yikes, absolutely NOT what I meant. What I meant is, don't go to British Columbia/Prince-Edward-Island thinking you'll easily find Poutine. It WILL be hard. But in Quebec, it's EVERYWHERE! Even in McDonalds.

It's from Quebec, Canada, not everywhere in Canada ;)

A bit like saying Rattle Snake meat is the national dish of USA, where it's only found in the south ;)
