Gender Bending Video Game Characters

Artist David Stonecipher imagined what eight famous video game characters would look like with opposite genders, such as the masculinized Lara Croft above.

Games today give player an increasing amount of control over their play-time. Whether it be through sandbox titles allowing gamers to randomly create their own adventures or the growing list of RPGs that allow players to create and mold their characters exactly how they want, gamers presently have an unprecedented amount of control over their in-game experience. What would happen if other developers brought this gender change idea into their titles, allowing gamers to pick the sex of famous preset characters?

When we get new tenants at the apartment complex who are problematic - drinking, smoking, fighting, breaking all the rules etc - typically you can hear Baby It's Cold Outside coming though the walls.

Regardless of original intentions, yeah, I've always found this song really, really cringe. Long before it became widely controversial, but for all the same reasons.

I would like to thank Slay Belle for the context relevant interpretation of the song. It shows an effenct that the way one and the same thing is interpeted in a different context / time. Just imagine how the meaning of even older texts may have percieved / interpreted in a different manner.

It's odd to listen to old favorite songs and realize that they're really disturbing. I recently listened to Matthew Sweet's "I've Been Waiting", which was one of my favorite songs when I was a teenager. Now I realize that it's about a man who is waiting until a young girl becomes old enough to consent to sex.
