That's why I took the liberty of rounding up some of the best matching pet and owner costumes from across the web, so now everyone can get in on the fun.

Bowser and Chomp

These Mario baddies look incredible in their costumes, made by Redditor MapleSuicide -even if Chomp doesn't look all too happy about the situation.

New T-Shirts from the NeatoShop:

Homemade T. Rex Costume

LordBrandon made his son a dinosaur costume out of mattress foam and spray paint. He said it cost him about $25 for materials, but a lot in labor. It was a labor of love.

I made a model in 3D, then used software to split it apart into a pattern, then I hung the foam on the wall and projected the pattern with a little pico projector, traced it with a sharpie, and cut it out with an electric turkey carving knife. It really seemed to come alive when I painted the eyes.

He'll be the best-dressed kid on the block for trick-or-treat, but all reddit could talk about was his socks.

NASA's Hi-Tech Pumpkins 2016

They have a workplace pumpkin-carving contest every year, but this are no ordinary pumpkin art, because the workplace is NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Let's take a look at what rocket scientists do with pumpkins.

These pumpkins are out of this world! The ones that do things are impressive, but I particularly like the cow abduction pumpkin. You can read more about the event at Wired. -via Metafilter

A Fun Collection Of Punny Halloween Costumes Anyone Can DIY

(Image Link)

The time to make a costume for Halloween is running out fast, but there are still plenty of clever costumes you can DIY at home that will properly display your silly side, like this Han Solo red cup costume.

(Image Link)

Punny costumes are always a big hit on Halloween, but make sure your punny costume is easy to read or people will keep asking you what you're dressed as, which can be super annoying.

Oh Deer she can't figure out my costume, Holy Cow how hard is it to understand?

(Image Link)

If you wanna be safe create a costume with a food based pun, because people always understand food jokes for some reason.

(Image Link)

And when all else fails simply show up as your normal self, aka a Pot Head, and make people LOL and ROFL wherever you go!

Has Anyone Ever Actually Poisoned or Put Razors in Halloween Candy?

My mother never checked my Halloween candy when I was a kid, but that was years before the Halloween candy tampering panic. We picked up homemade treats at quite a few homes. I always checked my kids' trick-or-treat bounty -and confiscate all the Almond Joys. They handed over any dark chocolate automatically.

(YouTube link)

Daven Hiskey of Today I Found Out explains why parents are so worried about candy tampering. Reports of poisoned Halloween candy turn out to be hoaxes, accidents, or in one horrific case, a parent murdering his own children. Just as in murder, rape, and theft, you're in more danger from family and friends than from strangers. -Thanks, Daven!

Animated Demogorgon Costume

The Monster from the Netflix series Stranger Things is a humanoid with no face, but its head opens up to reveal a mouth full of terrifying teeth. The series characters call it a Demogorgon, which is a Dungeons & Dragons term. If it weren't so difficult to pull off, this would be the biggest Halloween costume of 2016.

Indiana artist Carl Leck (Instagram user CBLimagery) made this awesome Demogorgon costume with a mechanical system that lets him open up that mouth with a flick of a finger. Redditor ins1der uploaded a slightly longer gif. Here's another look, with some friends included.

Chicago Halloween Light Show

(YouTube link)

Sabrina Faire and her family put on a musical Halloween light show every year. But how many times can you listen to "Thriller" or "Monster Mash"? This year, they had a better idea. It's been very popular with the neighbors and everyone in the city. The Chicago Cubs are currently playing the Cleveland Indians in the World Series. -via Bits and Pieces

(YouTube link)

You can also scroll up or down, or use the switch at the top left to spin the scene around, but you might lose the cat. Still, it's a video, you can always find the cat again. Your kids will enjoy this.

About Those Witches and Their Broomsticks

First off, while this video may be technically SFW, it is not for children. We know that witches were depicted as riding broomsticks as far back as the year 1451. Daven Hiskey from Today I Found Out goes a little further into the reason some women took such pleasure in riding a broom stick. Yes, it was the drugs.

(YouTube link)

In days of yore, women who would never be afforded the honor of being called a scientist or a physician learned what plants could heal, kill, or get one high. Many of these plants were later associated with witchcraft because they could easily cause death. But in the hands of someone armed with the ancient knowledge passed down to them, they could be a mind-expanding trip. It's strange to think of this parallel world where highly respected men were sponsored by kings and nobles to experiment with turning ordinary substances into gold, while more secretive folk were performing real magic with herbs and flowers. -Thanks, Daven!

The Doll Asylum

Mark Williams and Heidi Loutzenhiser of Portland, Oregon, go a step beyond for their Halloween decorations every year. They turn their home into an attraction called The Doll Asylum. Over a thousand dolls are used to create haunting and/or bloody tableaux from science fiction to slasher scenes. The asylum has an extensive "history" to set visitors up for an evening of dread. The Doll Asylum will be open every night through Halloween. Admission is free. The picture above is one of the less disturbing of those available. You can see more, rather gruesome images of the Doll Asylum at Unreality.

What Do Zombies Really Eat?

A closer reading of the literature proves the menu for your next zombie gathering is more complicated than just "brains."

1. HUMAN OFFAL

In the ancient Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh, Ishtar, the goddess of love and war, threatens to start a zombie apocalypse: raising the dead to eat the living. It’s the oldest reference to zombies in the world. It makes no mention of brains in particular.

2. LOCALLY SOURCED FLESH

Nachzehrer by Flibertyjibbeth on DeviantArt

Some say the Nachzehrer from German mythology is actually a vampire, but blood is not on its menu. Instead, after rising from the grave, the ghoul eats its own flesh. As the Nachzehrer feasts, its living relatives become sick.

Teen's Head Stuck in Pumpkin

Kristy Ralphs recorded her family's pumpkin-carving evening. The kids are showing off for the camera. Her daughter Rachel thinks she can fit her head inside the big pumpkin. Yes, she can, but then she couldn't get her head back out!

(YouTube link)

Everyone had suggestions, like calling the fire department or using a sawzall. Kristy eventually put the camera down to help out. In case you are wondering if Rachel is still in there, here's a clip recorded just a few minutes later.

(YouTube link)

Dad: Why were you putting your head in there, anyway?

Rachel: I just thought it would be fuinny.

Mom: It was funny!

Funny enough for a viral video. They never said exactly how she got out of the pumpkin. I like to think that she ate her way out. -via Uproxx

Spooky Club

Brothers Joe and Lloyd Stas bring us a goofy Halloween short film that delivers in a hurry! The Spooky Club is a group of guys who have eerie but useless talents. In this video, they are on a mission to find Vincent Price's skull and cremate it as he had wished.

(vimeo link)

We got an email from Vincent’s daughter, Victoria saying how much she liked it and how her Dad would have loved it too. It made us feel super proud! It’s 23 years this week since he died.

Read more about Spooky Club and the making of the short film. If you want to join Spooky Club, sign up here. -Thanks, Joe!
