These Delicate Insect Sculptures are Made of Scrap Metals

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. This proverb is simple yet still true today. Through creativity, we can make a seemingly useless thing into a valuable work of art.

French artist Edouard Martinets turns his fascination of insects into art using scrap metal.

Many sculptures can take several months, or even years to complete, as Martinet would rather wait until he finds the perfect part rather than compromise his vision. The objects are then held together with screws, resulting in stunning works that measure between 30 centimeters and 2 meters long.

The artist also made fish out of metal. Check out other images over at My Modern Met.
