Remember X-Ray Specs and Sea-Monkeys ads on back of comics?

Can you remember these ads on the back of comics? Specs that let you see through clothes. The secrets to super-human strength. Seven-foot tall ghosts. All of this could be yours for a few dollars. At least, that’s what vintage comic-book ads would have you believe.

I not only remember the ads, I actually got a packet of Sea-Monkeys in addition to a kid's magazine and yes, they looked exactly like the ad's picture. I watched them build a castle, crown a king and have feuds and rivalries until they finally all murdered one another in an epic final battle over the Coral Throne. Sea Monkeys ultimately taught me not to get my feet wet in politics.

I'm pretty sure I bought a flying saucer inspired incubator that had a single old style Christmas type light for heat after seeing it in a comic book. I hatched a bantam rooster with it. The egg had to be rotated every 4 hours for 28 days. My mom gave the emerging chick a little help out of the egg while I was at school. I can't find a picture of that incubator online unfortunately.
