"Blind" Cat Finally Opens His Eyes

Cotton was a stray cat in Florida who suffered from a bad case of mange. The mites were in his eyes, which were infected so badly he couldn't open them. He had grown very skinny by the time he was taken in by Carmen Morales, founder of the Animals Friends Project. She took Cotton into her home and quarantined him in the bathroom while he underwent treatment.

Although Cotton couldn’t see, he instantly trusted Morales. He was so patient while Morales worked to apply ointment and coconut oil to his irritated skin every day, and looked forward to seeing her for pets and meals. Cotton’s condition kept getting better. Then, after a few weeks of constant care, something amazing happened.

Cotton opened his eyes — and he could see.

Morales listed Cotton for adoption, but he had formed such a close bond with her that she decided to keep him as a member of the family. You can read about Cotton's recovery and see more pictures at The Dodo. -via Bored Panda

He is beautiful! I miss my white kitty. I tamed down a stray who was afraid, but finally was so skinny and sick I managed to get my hands on him. Then he remembered how nice having his head scratched was. He had a giant abscess on his neck and was too skinny to close it up for several months. He had also knocked his fangs out and had FIV. Later he developed diabetes, but he was just the sweetest, ugly cat ever. Everyone who met him, loved him.
