Librarian Turns Stump of 110-Year-Old Tree into an Amazing Little Free Library

When Sharalee Armitage Howard of Coeur d'Alene, ID, had to remove a 110-year-old cottonwood tree from her yard, instead of digging up the stump she hollowed it out and turned it into a beautiful Little Free Library. The addition of a roof, lights, and miniature book decorations makes this a stunning and unique Little Free Library that is worthy of a visit.

I need to move. Sadly my small town is quite hit by poverty and zero class people. I know the meth heads around here would take all the books and trash everything in the process.

in the Netherlands we don't "do" earthquakes. :), but as each house would be an metal stack 5 high shipping container i think it's a step up from drywall.

I can understand the initial appeal of wanting to live in some hobo-opolis but once the novelty wears thin and the romance is all but gone you'll be pining for a 3500 sq ft beige box with central heating in a subdivision .

You may be interested in the Ace modular building units which can be used as a standalone unit or component of a larger structure. It is compact for transportation and storage, easily assembled/dissassembled with hand tools on site, and can be configured (both interior space and exterior windows/doors) for many applications.
