Can We Truly Say Machines Are "Lifeless"?

It may be about time for us to stop referring to machines as "lifeless" because despite their lack of sentience or a soul the machines all around us are full of life.

Their electronic eyes never stop roving, their doors open and close all day and their gears turn and turn and turn, their only period of rest coming after something has broken inside them.

In fact, these "lifeless" objects have more life and energy inside them than many people I know!
