Life: The RPG

We don't earn experience points by going about our daily lives, nor are we guaranteed to have lots of adventures and earn lots of gold in our lifetimes because, like it or not, life is mostly mundane.

But if you want to feel a sense of accomplishment in your dull life you can create an "epic tasks" checklist every day and pretend you're completing quests as you cross stuff like "put on clean clothes" and "heat up leftovers" off your list.

Just try not to make the list too long or too unrealistic, or you might end up stuck at level 1 for the rest of your life. (Comic by Optipess Comics)

Lori Dajose, CalTech Communications Officer: "The original 'rabbit illusion' was a tactile illusion," Dajose says. "You tap someone’s arm very quickly in two locations (let’s say point A and point B) repeatedly. When their eyes are closed, even though the tapping is only happening in two locations, they can feel the tapping 'hop' linearly across multiple locations on their arm between point A and point B. So for the audiovisual illusion, the 'rabbit' has to do with how the flash 'hops' across the screen."
