The Open-Plan Office Paradox

The point of an open office plan is

1. It’s easier for the boss to look and see if you’re really working.
2. You can get more workers seated in x square feet.
3. Cubicles are easy to reconfigure when needed.
4. It’s cheaper in the long run.

There are probably more reasons, but rarely is the top consideration the communication and camaraderie that was explained to you. The good news is that some of the top companies provide those accessories to keep you from getting distracted. The bad news is that you don’t work for one of those companies, and must bring your own. This is the latest comic from CommitStrip.
