Freight Train Obliterates 18-Wheeler Stuck on Tracks

YouTube Link

An eighteen-wheeler that got stuck on train tracks in Mer Rouge, Louisiana was annihilated by a freight train on October 5. The truck driver was able to get away in time to save his life. Two train engineers sustained injuries for which they were treated at a local hospital. Both will recover. A hasty evacuation of homes in the immediate area was ordered after it was learned that one of the train cars was leaking a chemical gas. Once the gas was determined to be argon, the evacuation was called off and the cleanup began. “Holy mother of moo-moo!”

And anyway - though non-toxic, it won't support life, so you can still asphyxiate it there's too much of it around. That and it's more dense than air means it'll pool in cellars etc.
If it's compressed, there's danger of shrapnel if a tank ruptures. If it's refrigerated, then there's the danger of a river of cryogenic fluid pouring down the street.
All in all - best get everyone clear at least until it's made secure.

Information was taken from an early news article, which stated evacuation was made due to argon gas. Later articles explained that an evacuation was made when it was learned there was a gas leak; once it was discovered to be argon, people in immediate vicinity were allowed to return home.
