9 Clever Ways To Make Stuff Out Of Other Stuff

Okay, I admit that wasn't the best title I've ever come up with, but short of calling these things "object hacks" I just didn't know how to perfectly describe making stuff out of stuff.

However, turning old useless stuff into shiny new stuff is totally fun, and a great way to show off your crafty side while being eco-friendly!

1. Chip bag hair bow-

You don't have to be a fashion expert to know that hair bows are always in style, and if you're out of chips and out of style then you're in luck! With a little crafty know-how and a mirror you've got one tasty hair accessory!

2. Upcycled jeans tablet sleeve-

Losing an old pair of jeans is like losing a good friend, but you can turn that frown upside down by turning your old jeans into a snazzy denim tablet sleeve. It looks even cooler if your jeans are worn or covered in patches.

3. Playing card top hat-

Heading out to poker night but you don't have a thing to wear? Grab a deck of cards, some scissors and a stapler and you've got all you need to make a sweet playing card top hat that'll make your friends flush with envy!

Only the bravest souls attempt this master trainer level build- a brimmed Pokemon card hat simply oozing with swagger! Got game? This kid certainly does!

4. Adorable Lego Storage container-

LEGO stuff is expensive! But why buy retail when you've got the makings of a you-tail upcycling in your kitchen?

With a clean plastic tub (the kind that usually hold pretzels or cheese puffs), some paint, some stencils and a little effort you've got a really cool LEGO container that's really affordable!

5. Plastic shopping bag dress-

Don't you hate it when you're out shopping and you suddenly lose every stitch of clothing you're wearing?

Make a skirt by stringing bags along a belt made of plastic bags, tie on over plastic bag bodice and you're ready for the bakery department ball!

The plastic bag dress is kind of a free-for-all- sometimes it looks good, other times it looks really corny:

6. Hair raising balloons-

Are you tired of having your thick, hot hair hanging on your neck? Employ a squadron of balloons to give that heavy hair a lift!

Admit it- you wish you'd thought of this one when you were at Burning Man last year...

7. T-shirt dress-

You may have seen variations on this theme being done all wrong by trashy people all across the country, but the end result of this t-shirt dress tutorial actually looks pretty good!

Take note People of Walmart- this is the only appropriate way to wear a t-shirt as a dress!

8. Plastic jug painter's buddy-

The plastic jug painter's buddy doesn't look all that great, but it's a great idea! They're a real life savor when your home improvement projects involve painting, and you can recycle them when you're done!

Or, if you prefer your paintings on canvas a Pringle's can is the perfect size to hold all of your brushes, and with a few quick modifications nobody will be able to tell it used to house a snack stack!

9. Plastic bottle piggies-

It seems like there are always plastic bottles lying around our homes, and each week we throw them in the recycling bin without a second thought.

But what if you could upcycle them by turning them into cute little piggy planters, would you still toss them out?

These piggy planters add a touch of whimsy to your garden, they replace the plastic pots you normally buy from a garden store, and when they've outlived their usefulness you can toss them in the recycling bin.
