When you watch a modern movie trailer, you are seeing the very best scenes in the movie. So why go watch the whole movie? The trailer producers think they are putting one over on us, and implying that the entire movie is this good. Whether you see through that or not, they tend to give away too much of the plot while they’re at it. Glove and Boots gives us an example in the movie The Empire Strikes Back, and show us what a modern-day trailer for the film would be like. A couple of minutes later, I feel like I just sat through the whole movie (again). -via Pleated-Jeans
