Squatting in a Skyscraper

The Centro Financiero Confinanzas is a high-rise office building in Caracas, Venezuela. Or, it would have been, if they’d ever finished construction. Instead, the project went belly-up in 1994 and the 45-story tower remains unfinished. But people started moving in 2007, and now the building, nicknamed the Tower of David, has about 3,000 people living there. Some even run businesses inside the tower. See 26 pictures of the squatters and the homes they’ve made from Reuters photographer Jorge Silva at the Atlantic. -via mental_floss
