Let’s all be glad that the young despots in this list are all fictional. Inspired by Joffrey Baratheon of the TV series Game of Thrones, the A.V. Club looks at other conflicts caused when those who are too young to care about the consequences of their actions are put into positions of power. Many of these will be familiar to you: Joffrey Baratheon, of course, and Zalim Singh from The Temple of Doom, and Jack Merridew from Lord of the Flies. Some may be new to you, and could merit a trip to Netflix. Read about all of them, and shudder at the thought. There’s a reason we don’t normally let children boss us around.
