A View of Sochi from Space

This past Monday, an astronaut aboard the International Space Station captured a photograph of Sochi, Russia, at night. The circle of yellow lights designate the Sochi Olympics Park. The white circle within it is Fisht Stadium, with the Olympic flame showing up as a yellow dot. I believe the blue lights are from the Bolshoy Ice Dome, the Olympic hockey venue. -via With Leather

Just like the waning fads of style in movie serials such as Flash Gordon and fins on cars of the era, the "streamlined" Multi-Hammer didn't retain popularity either.

Tension tool for leather belt drives. My grandfather always kept one tied to his belt. When we asked him why, he would become very cross. I've always wondered what happened to my 'Grandpa Hammer.' Ummm, where did you get this?

Thor is trying to keep up with the times posing as a skater, with his Fallen Shoes and modified Fallen logo hammer to match. Don't worry, he still has his winged helmet, but these wings are just stickers.

This is obviously an early version of a hand held knife sharpener used by the vikings. Different thickness of different blades can be inserted into the slot and yanked out to 'sharpen' the weapon. Use with only permission from Odin and use the blood of your enemies for proper lubrication.

Computers are older than many originally thought. This ancient Roman USB thumb drive was recently discovered, alongside the scattered remains of an iron abacus.

This is the honorary key to the International Museum of Leaf Removal Technologies, featuring over 2500 different rakes, yard brooms, "foliage scufflers," "detritus dedistributors," and other such lawn care implements.

Located in Carthage, Missouri (known as the "Maple Leaf Capital"), the museum hosts a symposium once a year to discuss the latest updates to this centuries-old practice of scraping tree waste from the surrounding environs, and the paper which is considered "best in show" receives the "Palme d'Floor" and this special key, thought to resemble one of the rakes used by the keepers of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
