Amager Bakke, a waste management company in Denmark, plans to build this massive incinerator in Copenhagen in 2017. When it’s finished, it’ll do more than burn trash. On top, it has a functional ski slope with three different difficulty levels.
Every year, the incinerator designed by Bjarke Ingels will be able to burn 400,000 tons of trash while heating 160,000 households and generating electricity for 62,500 homes. At the same time, the 11,000-square meter slopes with a mixture of real and artificial snow will let people enjoy a pleasant winter’s day of action.
