I think the constant, rhythmic movement matters more than the container. Babies sleep pretty good while someone is walking and carrying them. It can be a hassle for modern parents, but it makes sense from nature's standpoint.

I think a baby could sleep anywhere and at any time. Their little bodies just clock out.
