Selfish Young Brain Lacks the Skill to Share

As parents of three young children, my wife and I constantly tell our kids that they have to share. It's an uphill battle, because they just don't want to - Now, we found out why sharing is so hard for little kids:

If a child you know refuses to share his toys, chances are he knows he is doing wrong but cannot help it. New research published in March in Neuron reveals that underdevelopment of an impulse control center in the brain is, at least in part, the reason children who fully understand the concept of fairness fail to act accordingly.

Hmmm, guess one of my neices is an exception to this. She's always been a sharer since she was very very young. She's only 6 now but still shares everything she gets.
