The Story of the Keep Calm and Carry On Poster

(Video Link)

A simple phrase, topped with the crown of King George VI. Since its rediscovery twelve years ago, the Keep Calm and Carry On poster has become a popular symbol of courage and resolution. Now learn the story behind the poster and its rediscovery in an amazing bookstore in northeastern England.

Barter Books is an amazing shop. I live about 20 miles away and was in there the other week. What was intended to be a quick stop off ended up becoming an extended (and expensive) book-buying session.

Strange to think that, had that box of books not been bought, the poster may not have been found, and so wouldn't be adorning every kind of item conceivable. Bet the shop wouldn't mind earning commission on its use...

I don't care - it looks like a really great bookstore (:

And I never knew that the poster was never officially issued. The phrase always struck me as the epitome of British poise...

Very neat, thank you!
