Jonti Picking recently found footage of a scientist demonstrating head stability in an owl in 1962 and wrote a little song about it. -via Arbroath

Interesting that even with it's eyes covered it was able to keep it's head still.

As amazing as the owl's neck's stability is, nothing distracts more than the guy 's mouth gesturing.. Is it a mechanism to soothe the poor owl through its humiliating ordeal? perhaps..

Owls have to keep their head stable, since they hunt in the dark.
