Measuring Tape Robots - Neatorama

Keiko Takahashi made these adorable little measuring tape robots. They move like snails, slowly inching forward. Her project is called "Meter Crawler":

A meter crawler protrudes its steel measure four or eight cm. The body of the crawler follows the steel measure and thus moves forward. When it is taken away from floor, it stops moving, and the steel measure holds into the case. When it is on a floor, it starts protrudes its steel measure and move forward.

Hey, did you know that a bear is not only faster than men, but can also climb on trees (so not a good hiding place), and also sense women's periods? Not so shabby in terms of brain as well.

If I recall correctly some of the larger bears can't climb trees.

I cross the path of a bear this summer and I must say it runs really fast. Don't try to race against a bear you definitely won't win!

Black bears can climb trees very well. Grizzly bears cannot.
