Candle Animation

(YouTube link)

Using tea candles for pixels, YouTube member brusspup lit and relit for two weeks to create this video game sequence. It's all worth it if you enjoy watching it! -via the Presurfer

Neat. Have to question whether brusspup actually lit and relit for two weeks. Notice candle along right side and to in upper right corner. They see oddly 'white' without any hint of a burned wick, consistent throughout the video. I would have expected some candle to be moved slightly, and their appearance (from burning) changes. Suspect this is not what it seems.

Oh, I'm sure he moved some around rather than putting some out to light others. That's what I would have done. Still, over two weeks I would imagine there was a lot of candle lighting. After all, you can't leave them burning overnight!

I agree with Joe. I saw this video yesterday on LiveLeak.

It is a fake. Not only does the candles not move (even the ones that are out of place) but the light in the room never changes, and the wax spilled on the floor never changes. It would have been at least cleaned, or smudged around with all that lighting and extinguishing.

I'm with John and Brickhouse. Looks like he took some samples and digitized it. It looks like only a handful of different 'lit candle' images that he recycles.

Funny how the lit candles don't cast any shadows either...

Compare it to Barking Bud's video, which is completely different. The candles, shadows, and lights, all vary with the expected wiggles and flickers.
