UK Store Offers Divorce Registry

Did your ex got your favorite tea kettle and plush Egyptian cotton towels in the divorce? Not to worry, now you can head down to Debenhams department store and register for some more. Go ahead and add lots of stuff to your divorce gift registry. Hopefully all those family members who said it wouldn't last will be willing to chip in and buy you a little, "I told you so gift."

A divorce registry is a great way to help individuals going through a divorce rebuild. Some people lose half of their households. What better way to help than by replacing some of what has been lost. It alleviates some of the financial burden associated with divorce as well. Check out DivorceCandy, a new site that just launched offering divorce registries, articles, and a community for divorcees, their friends, and families to start over, stay positive, and move forward.

Tacky, yes, but with people marrying older these days, you have a yard sale when you get married and need a shower when you split. It's only tacky when you ask for stuff. I've been married more times than I care to admit, but I've never had a wedding shower. We really did have a wedding yard sale last summer!

I'm with you Necronomic - I can see the need for people to get back on their feet after a divorce (been there, done that)and if someone feels inspired to help someone out, fine. But a gift registry? That's not only greedy but tacky in the bargain.
