Woman Keeps Pet Snowball For 33 Years

Prena Thomas of Lakeland, Florida has an unusual "pet" she keeps in her freezer -a snowball! She made the snowball in 1977 and has kept it frozen safe in a bread bag ever since. Thomas occasionally takes it out to show to friends.
Thomas said that over the decades, she has never had a power outage that would destroy the cold hunk she says is precious to her.

"It's just like a little pet," she said.

MadMolecule! Me too! I remember my best friend's big sister driving a bunch of us kids out to the beach. We wanted to see snow falling on the beach.
I'm happy enough with keeping the snow in my memory.

Yeah. How about that sublimating thing?
I once put a huge snowball in a ziploc in a deep freezer.
A year later it was a crusty roundish shaped chunk of ice.

I also am surprised it hasn't sublimated over this length of time (though she does admit that it's smaller). She should wrap it with more airtight material than just a plastic bag.
