An Early Oscar Prediction?

The folks at iBored posted this about a month ago, but now that we're getting closer to the Oscars I thought it might be interesting to see what you guys think.

Here's my two cents: I thought Heath Ledger was awesome, and I don't usually even like those movies. I really hated Batman Begins even though I love Christian Bale. Katie Holmes kinda ruined it for me. On second thought, maybe that's why I liked The Dark Knight. I digress. Back to your thoughts - Is this poster a prediction of how the Oscars are going to go this year? Do you think it should be? Let us know in the comments. Either way, I think the poster is neat.

I don't think it's right to give someone an award out of sympathy or pity so all these months when I've heard how amazing the movie is and how Ledger was going to get an Oscar is was....well, cynical about it. But I recently saw the movie and I was blown away. He played the hell outta that character and he truly does deserve the award.

If a movie based off a comic book or comic book character gets an Oscar that will be the best day! I really hope it does happen, it was such a good movie, and Ledger was such a great actor! Yet there's the down fall of most critics thinking comicbooks/graphic novels aren't Oscar/Awards worthy. I think this is the movie to blur the lines though. If not The Dark Knight then it's wishful thinking that it would be the Watchmen.

I have a question about Oscars. Are they only given to productions where the film is released in theaters? If this is the case The Watchmen won't get an Oscar, due to a lawsuit of FOX Entertainment preventing the thatrical release because of a license disagreement between FOX and Warner Bros.

i haven't seen slumdog but i've heard it's good. DK def shouldn't get best picture...it was good for a comic flick but not that good. i saw MILK. if not for slumdog that movie should get the oscar. Sean Penn maybe should get the oscar for best actor.

Heath can get the honorary oscar? i mean RIP but no sympathy awards yo. (as previously stated)

I like the poster but was stymied to figure out what it said. I think I was looking for it to be rewritten as 'Want to know how I got so scary?' and it was keeping me from seeing what it actually says. Cool poster.

If Heath gets nominated, it will be for Best Supporting Actor. The lead actor is Bale. And if he gets nominated, I hope he wins. He'll probably have some competition from Brad Pitt (Burn After Reading).
