We don't post a lot of politics on Neatorama, and even less of Sarah Palin (we only have 5 posts about her). But in for a penny, in for a pound in this case, I suppose. A while ago, I ran into this interesting photo of Alaska Governor Palin sitting on her ice throne at the 2007 World Ice Art Champsionships. It was -30° below, and she managed to look pretty comfy there! (Source)
For the record, I find Palin fascinating - and whether you agree with her politics or not, you can't argue that she has captured the Republican
spotlight of the 2008 US Presidential Election and the hearts of many Americans.
Think about it:
Sexy, powerful older woman.
Definitive solution to global warming.
Strong on national security & treason.
Several centuries of experience in government.
Will freeze federal spending, then turn it to stone.
Knows the Deplorable Word, and it's not 'Maverick'.
Favors enlisting wolves for elite national security force, rather than shooting them from helicopters.
Turning Congress to stone will play well with the business community.
I'm sure I can think of more once I finish this Turkish delight!
There's nothing better than a rehash of the most pointless, vacuous argument of 2008 to get the holiday juices going.
And...go!
I can just see him standing up at a press conference and solemnly saying 'I am not a crook'.
How she would have fared is not the point : she had the opportunity to be elected and that is a great sign of democracy.

She appeals to the lowest, lowest instincts in people. She has treated Alaska like her private, ethis-free playground and STM, she repeatedly lied about Obama.
Do you want her in politics or in bed? I think you are confusing the two.
I could care less about palin's political affiliation, and indeed many here haven't even mentioned this aspect of her. On the basis of her "character" alone and the fact that she was the running mate for one of the most powerful offices in the world, is cause for amusement on one hand, shock on the other.
