Internet dating: The entire story is told in one cartoon. It warmed my heart, then brought a tear to my eye (sorta), because it’s so true. I would like to know who the artist is. Link
It would have been just as accurate for him to show up at her door and discover she's a dude, morbidly obese, thirty years older than him, or completely psychotic. Or all of the above.
I met my husband online in 2001. At this time everybody thought I was crazy. We didn't look for someone, he wanted to learn French (I'm French) and I needed to learn English (he is American). After lot of exchanges we were in love and decided to meet (9 month later). We got married 4 years later. We are now married for 3 years. I think time is the key word and I think the right person can be found anywhere, just don't try to look too hard. It'll come when it'll come, whatever the way is.
pinguino, please don't pull credits out of your ass.
I've seen this comic before though. Whenever somone starts an "Intentionally depressing" thread on 4chan, it's been a prerequisite to post that image ever since it showed up about six months ago. No idea where it came from though, considering the entire board is anonymous.
It may not have anything at all to do with xkcd. It's certainly not BY Randall Munroe, that's for sure, as someone else said. I saw a great set of "comic" drawn "life experience" images that came from 4chan of all places.
I watched my best friend go through several "dates" online. One time she was so heart broken over someone she had never met in person! I questioned her sanity. I mean, come on, it's just a box, right? Then she met someone who was actually decent and married him after five years of being together.
God, that's true. If you have means that you can get together often or relocate? Awesome. But having been through a very long term relationship where neither of us could, it just hurt so much.
Oh, I don't know... They had a couple meet on the Battlestar Galactica forums and end up getting married. One of the behind-the-scenes videos on the dvds talked about how BSG brought them together online.
Yes, yes, I am a geek, and I do watch BSG, even the dvd extras.... so, anyone want a date? :P
Bah! This comic is silly! I've known several couples who've met online. My previous relationship of two years was with someone I met online. My current relationship is with someone I met online. A friend moved from New York to Ohio to be with someone she met online, and they've been together for five years now. My roomate met his totally awesome girlfriend online over a year ago.
Not that either is necessarily a good idea, you understand; it's just that, whether it's a good idea or not, it's not a new one.
I couldn't help but agree! :D
very cute sweet comics about geeks, tech, and love
We met online.
Don't give up; don't stop looking; don't settle!
Your written English is very natural after only seven years. I'm impressed.

I would thought he'd be dreaming about Internet porn.
I don't understand.
It's all for sex, so what's the big deal? I do it all the time.

It's a lovely comic, but not as true as it once might have been.

Met my man 5 years ago online :o)
