You're right alot of police and security forces use the plastic doohickies to cuff down 'perps, however, to cuff someone to a radiator or a bed post doesn't hurt to keep a set in hand.

I don't know... I think handcuffs like these are getting to be as rare as bobby pins. Here in Europe I think everybody uses those plastic strip things which are impossible to escape. They are disposable, light and anyone can carry enough of them in their pocket to handcuff a dozen protesting teenagers.

Great to know when the significant other forgets you there in bed handcuffed to the post and then you remember your parents/in-laws are visiting and have a set of keys.

Apparently you don't have an ex-girlfriend with a strange sense of humour. This would have come in handy a couple of years ago.

i hope i won't be a culprit to escape a handcuffs, but nevertheless the trick stands in good stead.
