it's only dangerous to stupid people who do stupid things, in which case they deserve whatever they get. and as for being wasteful, it is serving a purpose, instead of being poured down a drain, which would be truly wasteful.
have you ever bathed in sake? the next time you take a bath, add a cup or two of sake to the bathwater, and look at what a disgusting brown ring it leaves around your tub. sake (obviously, being alcohol) cleans the skin very effectively, removing bits of dirt ground into your pores.
