You can see it, and its not a hoax, its just not nearly as big as you think it is! Or you have totally the wrong idea of scale!!
Go to primm just south of last vegas. Now zoom in so that the town fills most of your view. The lighter coloured orange square of terrain directly north-east of primm (bordering the buildings at the north) contains the magazine cover. Its roughly in the middle.. Happy hunting...

It's a clever marketing ploy, though - I've seen it aired on tv news, so they're obviously getting tv airtime and exposure worth millions for peanuts.

How can one see that on Google Earth? Whenever I go to Google earth the satellite photos I see are more than two years old; that is, it shows my new construction, year-and-ahalf old house as an empty lot.

Unless maxim built that 2 years ago, will anyone see it?
