It took over 11 hours to create these two "Where the Wild Things Are" chalk murals at Arnold DC, a Washington ad agency. Watch the timelapse video of their creation, using over 1,500 stills. Really cool.

That got me thinking.  Is the Seth Green guy really Seth Green, filmed recently?  Slipped into a montage of real 87 vid-daters?  And if that is Seth Rogen, is it also current footage with makeup, because if it was really him he’d be about 5 years old in 1987. It seems odd that two Seths appear in one seemingly random new (old) funny video.

Anyway, aside from that, there’s lots of funny to be found in this new viral gem.  Hard to pick a favorite, but the Goddess guy/ Bon Jovi afficionado is impressive.

Here’s a hypnotizingly apt way of visualizing music.  There’s a bunch of these on You Tube, but Beethoven’s 5th is decidedly the best.  If you’re curious as to which instrument is represented by each color bar, well…here you go.

What do you think this little guy is dreaming about? Feilds of food and fluffy bedding? Whatever it is, it certainly seems to be delicious and fun.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has trained this cute little guy to play piano. Of course, he’s not the next Beethoven, but it’s still too cute to look away.

Because, it turns out, these aren’t films. They are computer-generated artifacts, made by Christian Comte, a French artist who has a studio in Cannes. Reached the other day, Comte acknowledged his authorship. “These films are animations of photographs, achieved thanks to a process that I invented,” he said. “I work as an alchemist in animated cinema.” He uses still photographs and, by employing a computer to alter them—tilt a head, move an arm—fills in the gaps between successive shots. That’s why his “Faun” footage is so much longer than his other footage. He had all those de Meyer stills. This is basically no different from the way Steven Spielberg got the dinosaurs to run around the jungle in “Jurassic Park.”

Back in April we had put up a time lapse video clip by Samuel Cockedey called Remanence : Variance and folks seemed to have enjoyed watching it. Samuel, was kind enough to have contacted Neatorama recently with the news that he had just created a new video for us to watch hot off the proverbial presses.

The video shot in gorgeous HD is a lot more cinematic with grand vistas of Tokyo, various shots of the city coming alive with the buzzing traffic and buildings lighting up. My favourite part of the video has got to be the shot he has at the 1:00 mark with the clouds storming in over the city

Here is quite an amazing and beautifully rendered video shot in Tokyo by Samuel Cockedey.

Shot over the span of a year with Canon DSLRs (mostly 350d), processed with Lightroom (raw files color adjustment and resizing)/VirtualDub (deshaker/deflicker filters)/Sony Vegas (editing). Original rendered in 1080p.

To my surprise and disbelief I found a Bob Ross channel on Yubby.com dedicated to Bob Ross and filled with all sorts of his happy little videos. Finally there is bliss in my life again. Even more important: I found a great video collection to fall asleep to!

A friend sent me this on Monday and it was a lovely way to end my day. Ahhh, the Carlton Dance. The actor, Alfonso Ribeiro, is actually a very good dancer – he was even featured in one of Michael Jackson’s Pepsi commercials when he was a kid.

As part of Gatorade’s new branding campaign (apparently research shows more people will buy sugar water if it’s called “G”), TBWA/Chiat/Day and Tarsem teamed up to make a brilliant parody of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Enjoy this ten minute film, as King Kevin Garnett and various other athletes go on a quest for hydration. Can’t say it made me want to buy more . . . G, but I’d buy a pagan Kareem and his talking goat herald toy in a second.

The folks at Eden TV, a new UK-based natural history television network, celebrated its launch by building a 16-foot-tall of a polar bear and cub stranded on an iceberg. The sculpture was then set free to float down the Thames in an attempt to bring attention to the new network and to raise awareness about the polar bear’s dwindling habitat.

This three and a half minute video encapsulates the five-plus-hour process of erecting an 18-foot tall, 3,700 pound lifesized replica of the Transformers Autobot Bumblebee.  The maquette travels in three separate crates on a flatbet truck.  It takes several forklifts, a lot of manpower, a few big wrenches and some heavy jiggling to put it together.

The video was shot by Mark Raker and edited by Jonathon Robinson this week at the Chicago Auto Show.  And yes, in the interests of full disclosure, we were hired by Chevrolet to be there.  But this video was not part of the deal… we just had so much incredible footage of the autobot being built we couldn’t resist turning it into a video.

Plants grow too slow to see most of the time – making these videos seem like secret access points to a hidden world that operates at a radically different speed.

For those of you unfamiliar with plants (they’re a lot like pets, only lower maintenance) these 12 (!) time-lapse videos of plants and flowers growing and blooming should adequately acquaint you with their natural majesty. The only downside to plants is that they take a while to grow, but as you’ll see in these videos, it’s a beautiful process, which can be made all the more heart rending when paired with the right music.

Remember when video games were bad for you? Mom and Dad would complain about how they tied up the television, kept you from playing outdoors, ruined your eyesight and wasted your time. That’s a thing of the past. Re-tooled videogames are now helping children and teens boost basic skills in reading, writing and math.

At West Nottinghamshire College in the U.K., computer science teachers were struggling to get teenage students into literacy and numeracy classes. The college needed to take drastic measures to assist “disaffected students”.

The resolution came in the form of Neverwinter Nights, Atari’s popular computer game. Teachers rebuilt the game to deliver educational challenges players must tackle in order to progress.

It gives you tips and tricks on how to throw the perfect Puppy Bowl party (tail-gate, hahaha), offers tongue-in-cheek interviews with the Puppy Bowl “ref,” lets you check out the starting lineup and even gives you a sneak preview of this year’s Star Spangled Banner Performer – Pepper the Parrot.

I confess – part of the reason the Puppy Bowl is awesome is because I think it’s funny to watch my dogs watching dogs on T.V.
