At the height of the TMNT fad (circa 1994), the heroes in a half-shell put out a Christmas special, full of their own unique brand of self promotion. See how the Turtles can turn most any Christmas carol into a song about themselves, or food, and watch as their rubber lips flap to the beat. It’s a nostalgic Christmas clip for all the Ninja Turtles fans from way back!

Apparently when Russia got a hold of our beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles they decided to go nuts and cross them over with everything from the Predator to Disney cartoons to Batman.
WTF Russia? I thought the Cold War was over?! Please don’t look at these images if you’re a die-hard TMNT fan and have a weak heart.

Was a spell cast upon the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which turned them into trees, or is this tree just a really big fan of the series? This tree with a face would have fit in quite well on the set of the Dark Crystal.

These aren’t the skateboard riding, pizza loving turtles from the animated series, but rather the original dark and moody mutant ninja’s from the comics that started it all. With help from Master Splinter, they’re battling an angry anthropomorphic cat man and his gang for control of the city, and it looks like things are going to get bloody. ComicsAlliance has an 8 page preview of the first issue at the link below, take a look and decide for yourself whether you’ll be celebrating the return of TMNT!
Richard Krause, a big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, decided that the TMNT franchise needs something a bit different, so he went out and made his own short film, a darker version of the cheery toon called Fight the Foot.
We definitely like what he’s done, but what we really want to know is: how can we get that awesome turtle suit?

YesButNoButYes blog has a post about anti-drug PSAs that look like they were made by people who were under the influence themselves!
The post includes such gems PSAs by Hanna-Barbera, Pee Wee Herman (I half expected him to giggle by the end), and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

It’s time for another Neatorama and Ape Lad’s Hobotopia Caption Monkey game, but first, the story: that’s Sandy Hartness of Yucaipa Valley, California, who turned this poodle into a Ninja Turtle named Leonardoodle at the SuperGroom 2007.
What’s SuperGroom? It’s just about the hottest contest in creative dog grooming industry where first place winner gets $5,000. Too bad the Ninja Turtle didn’t win first place (how could it not? A travesty!). OC Register has the full story (and photo gallery, of course) – Thanks Julie Anne!
Now, the Caption Monkey game: Funniest caption wins a Free Monkey (or any other critter) Drawing by Ape Lad of Hobotopia. Contest rule is simple: place your caption in the comment, one caption per comment but you can submit as many funny ones as you can think of. You can also vote for your favorite comment, but not your own.
If you don’t win, but still want a drawing (definitely worth it, IMHO!), you can get one directly from Ape Lad for a nominal fee.
Update 11/4/07 (yeah, it’s that late!) – Congrats to Eric #9 for the winning caption!
