Horse boarding is a sport in which competitors ride off-road skateboards while being pulled by horses. The objective is to stay upright at high speeds and over rough terrain:

Professional stuntman Daniel Fowler-Prime, 31, invented the sport five years ago after he strung a rope between his off-road ‘mountain board’ and a horse.

Now he has developed the daredevil stunt into a fully fledged sport and is looking forward to hosting the UK’s first ever horse boarding championships this summer.

Adrenaline junkies stand on a mountain board while gripping a rope and attempt to maintain their balance as the horse is spurred into a gallop by its rider.

The rush of acceleration provides the greatest thrill, with riders reaching speeds of 35 miles per hour in just five horse strides.

Talk about cut and paste. Tilles Singer assembled various stills of skateboarders into makeshift milieus, added sound effects, music by Periscope, and created an imaginative video out of it all.

Unfortunately I cannot provide an exact list of photographers beeing responsible for the photography in the first place. Industrial designers Mike Simonian and Pieter Schouten made this skateboard in order to add the flexibility of snowboarding movements to skateboarding:

The Flowlab Skateboard allows you to surf without waves and ride without snow. Years of experimentation resulted in the geometry that allows a device with no moving parts to simulate the fluid motion of snowboarding or surfing on land. The arced axles let you carve to 45 degree angles with no resistance and fluid transitions edge-to-edge.

…is about the size of a small bus. It was built by Joe Ciaglia of California Skateparks, and in this video, he and his friends decided to take it for a ride at Camp Woodard, Pennsylvania.

Those of you madly competing for a free iPad may want to skip this, as one of the fine print warnings states: “May void warranty and cause geeks to cringe.”  Jeff King and Chad Knight ordered one, and promptly turned it into a mini-skateboard. The question then needed an answer: Will it shred?

Sixteen-year old Daniel Pelletier is paralyzed from the waist down and has endured twenty-five surgeries during his recovery, but he doesn’t let that stop him from being an accomplished skateboarder. Pelletier hopes to get corporate sponsorship with this video. More videos at the link.
