The Star Wars Uncut project has been moving right along since we first reported on it. It’s a collaboration among hundreds of filmmakers to recreate the movie Star Wars shot-by-shot, with each 15-second segment done by a different director in his or her own style. The entire movie will be shown at the CPH:PIX Festival April 19 in Copenhagen. In honor of the event, here are a few minutes of the movie. -via Buzzfeed

Remember the 1984 movie Karate Kid with Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita? Well, it’s going to have a remake, featuring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith (Will Smith’s son). From Monsters and Critics:

Jaden Smith’s character moves to Beijing with his mother, where he encounters a bully situation similar to Macchio’s in his new locale. Smith’s character will be named Dre instead of Daniel, and take lessons from Chinese martial arts master Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan.

Whereas Daniel Larusso and his mother only faced a regional move across the United States in the the first film, the producers say the script will integrate language barriers and an international collision of world views into the bully-victim-turned-martial-artist tale.

Now, take a look at the trailer and tell me, shouldn’t that be "kung fu" kid instead?

The list includes Earth 2, The Six Million Dollar Man, and others with video clips of their opening sequences.  Here’s author Kevin Kelley’s take on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century:

We just want to see Buck back on the big screen, where he has never really been (the original TV pilot was edited into a theatrical release). Toss some up and coming young star with good looks and a strong chin in this, and revamp everything. Just keep the cool laser pistols in it, and for god’s sake don’t let Buck disco.

The movie is about a ten year old Indian boy named Hari Prasad Dhoonda, nicknamed Hari Puttar (Puttar means "son" in Punjabi), who was left home when his parents go on vacation. Just like Home Alone, Hari soon has to face burglars who wanted to steal his father’s secret formula.

Given the similarity to its movies, Warner Bros. decided to sue but the case was thrown out by Indian courts on the grounds that the public would be able to tell the difference and Warner had waited too long to file their case.
